Transalp XL750
In November 2022, just a few hours after the presentation at the EICMA, we signed the sales contract! We essentially ordered the new Transalp XL750 straight from the catalog!
In February 2023, we finally saw them "in real life" for the first time. Delivery was scheduled for May 2023, even before our summer tour! But the waiting seemed endless... It wasn't until June that we received the long-awaited call from HONDA Magnum, our trusted dealer, while we were in the middle of France! Two beautiful new Transalps had been delivered!
On June 13, 2023, we got off the car train in Feldkirch at 7:00 a.m., exhausted. Our France tour had come to an end. One last time, we retrieved our trusty old Transalps from the train platform and chugged home. It was only five kilometers! We dismounted one last time in the underground parking garage. That was it.
Hooray! The registration papers are in the mailbox! Now we have to hurry. Without even getting ready, we rush around the corner to the insurance office. We're the first customers at 8:00! We almost fall asleep sitting up during the registration and change-of-registration process. It's a painstaking hot day in Vienna!
Twelve hours after our arrival, we're back on the train to Linz, Upper Austria, in our smelly motorcycle gear! Tomorrow morning we can pick up the new Transalps! We're completely exhausted when we arrive at our second apartment late this evening. Tomorrow at 9:00 am is the big day!
And on June 14, 2023, just 24 hours after our return, we brought our new travel companions home. Thanks to Thomas Datscher and his Team, who had everything wonderfully prepared!
What now? There's no test ride report, because everything's already been said by everyone else. But it seems as if Honda asked, "How can we help you?" and then took our answer seriously. They fit us like a glove! The bar for "most reliable travel companion" is still set pretty high, though...
